Ah... if he had stuck to the rule "if you can't paddle out, don't go out" he wouldn't have twat-slapped himself!
So many times I see people opt to jump off jetties and harbour walls rather than paddle out - and nine times out of ten it wasn't necessary (maybe Saltburn pier on a big day could be excused).
